Ben is a Pianist, composer and performer based in South London. His musical journey began when he joined the Wandsworth Philharmonic Orchestra on trumpet at the age of 13.
He played with the orchestra and the Wandsworth Jazz Orchestra for many years, touring across Europe many times and gaining a lot friends and experience.
After leaving the orchestra he began to learn piano and found it to be his lifetime passion.
Ben has since composed two albums of solo piano works and a number of electronic pieces finding his love for composition and the self expressive freedom that it brings.
He has also found a career as a cocktail pianist, playing for various locations such as The Polish Embassy, Salters’ Hall and Roehampton University.
Ben also plays in 4 bands of different genres; rock, jazz, acoustic and indie fostering his love of musical collaboration and just having fun playing with others.
Ben’s teaching approach prioritises the indivual’s self expression and creativity, providing students with the building blocks of piano playing while developing proper technique.
He then allows them to improvise and be creative with the music and instrument believing that the act of playing should be all about having fun and having an outlet to express yourself.
The pupil will guide the lessons choosing to learn whatever songs they want and what their priorities are.
